The Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018), and the Galaxy A8+ (2018) smartphones were launched earlier this year. Both ran Android Nougat out-of-the-box, and now it seems both will soon get the Android Oreo update.
Samsung has started rolling out Android 8.0 Oreo update for both the Galaxy A8 (2018), and the Galaxy A8+ (2018). This update for now is restricted to users in Russia, SamMobile reports. While there is no official word from the company yet, Galaxy A8+ (2018) users in India should be soon receiving the update as well.
The Android Oreo update (build number A530FXXU2BRG1 and A730FXXU2BRG1) for the two Galaxy A8 smartphones brings about a couple of interesting features. For one, both smartphones will get the July 2018 security patch. Further, it introduces Dolby ATMOS support, and brings in support for VoLTE on both SIM cards. As is always the case, the update is being rolled out in phases. In case you haven’t got the notification yet, you should wait a couple of days.
Of the two, only the Samsung Galaxy A8+ (2018) has been launched in India so far. The smartphone was launched at Rs 32,990, but can now be picked up online for around Rs 29,990.
