Samsung Galaxy Beam coming to India in April: Report

Last month at the Mobile World Congress, Samsung did not hold a press conference, however in spite of that the South Korean consumer electronics giant showcased a number of new products including, the Galaxy Beam – a dual-core Android smartphone with an integrated projector. While there were no details about an official release date, we expected it to hit Indian shores sooner than later and now this has been validated by the Mobile Indian, which quotes a Samsung official stating an April launch for the device in India.

Apart from its unique projector, the Galaxy Beam seems like a run of the mill Android smartphone placed in the mid segment featuring a 4-inch display, a 5-megapixel camera, a 2000 mAh battery and Android 2.3 with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI. As of now, due to its unique projector, there is no smartphone in the price band, which can stake claim to such a unique feature set, however this not the first time we have seen a smartphone with a integrated projector, as previously Micromax had showed a few devices with the functionality albeit at much lower price points.
