Samsung has silently launched Galaxy J7 Prime 2 in India. The smartphone has been listed on its Indian website for Rs 13,990 but it is marked as sold out suggesting the smartphone will become official sometime next week.
The Galaxy J7 Prime 2 is an upgrade to the Galaxy J7 Prime and the new device doesn’t seem to differ in a big way from its predecessor. The new model gets improvements like capacitive buttons but most of the specs on the device remain same as the one already available in the market.
Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime 2 Specifications and Features
The Galaxy J7 Prime 2 features a 5.5-inch display with Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The smartphone is powered by Samsung’s own octa-core Exynos 7 Series chipset clocked at 1.6GHz. Samsung has listed only one variant with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage and support for expandable storage up to 256GB via SD card slot.
On the camera front, the Galaxy J7 Prime 2 sports a 13-megapixel camera at the front as well as rear. Both the cameras support f/1.9 aperture and 1080p video recording at 30 frames per second. There is also support for Social Camera to capture, edit and share in one go. Samsung says, “The social camera is your all-in-one feature that lets you click, edit and share pictures instantly.”
The Galaxy J7 Prime 2 runs Android 7.0 Nougat and comes with Samsung Experience like Samsung Mall which unifies shopping across platform with support for visual search, one stop shop and universal cart. It also supports Samsung Pay Mini with instant payment functionality.
The Galaxy J7 Prime measures 151.7 x 75.0 x 8.0 mm in dimensions and weighs around 170 grams. It features a front mounted fingerprint sensor and supports connectivity functions like WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and microUSB port. The smartphone is backed by a 3,300mAh battery and is listed in black color option for now.
