With the newest Samsung flagship smartphone finally official, we now have people all over benchmarking the device, and putting it through the workbench. And what better to compare its performance with than the flagship smartphones from Samsung last year – the Galaxy Note 8, and the Galaxy S9+.

We have some benchmarking results here from Gsmarena, and as it turns out the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 with the Exynos 9810 processor could not top the list of most of the benchmarking tests. And the results are from a dual-SIM international variant, which is being compared to both the variants of the Galaxy S9+. And the Galaxy S9+ smartphone with the Snapdragon processor was able to get the best results from the GFX Bench tests that are heavily graphics dependent.

In the Antutu benchmarking the Galaxy Note 9 may be ahead of the previous generation Galaxy Note 8, by about 25 percent. But the fact still remains that the latest Samsung flagship, Galaxy Note 9, is still behind the scores of Galaxy S9+ by about six percent.

GeekBench’s multi-core benchmarking was the only one where the Galaxy Note 9 smartphone could beat its predecessor, and scored about all the rest. And it has been a trend with GeekBench to favor the Exynos processors just like Antutu favors the Snapdragon processors.

And GeekBench’s preference for the Exynos processors is seen in the single-core benchmarking tests where both the Exynos versions of Galaxy S9+ and Galaxy Note 9 have a score that is much ahead of the other smartphones.

The Galaxy Note 9 used for these test was the variant with 128GB internal storage and 6GB RAM, and it is yet to be seen if the other variant with 512GB storage and 8GB RAM would have different results.
