Samsung is set to launch an online-exclusive smartphone today in India. The smartphone will be a part of the company’s mid-range Galaxy On-series, and it will go on sale exclusively via Flipkart. If all the reports are to be believed, the smartphone launching today will be called the Samsung Galaxy On6.
A microsite on Flipkart has revealed that the new Samsung smartphone will be unveiled today at 12:30PM IST. Not a lot is known about the smartphone, and there is unlikely to be a launch event hosted by Samsung. Instead, we expect a relatively quiet announcement.
Based on previous reports, the Galaxy On6 will be priced around the Rs 15,000 mark. It will basically sit alongside Samsung’s Galaxy On7 Prime, and Galaxy On Max smartphones. At this price range, the upcoming device will also no doubt face competition from the likes of Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro, Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1, and the Realme 1 to name a few.
Going by the teasers, the Galaxy On6 is likely to flaunt a Super AMOLED Infinity Display. After introducing it on its flagship Galaxy S and Galaxy Note series, Samsung has lately started bringing the Infinity Display to its more affordable devices.
The upcoming smartphone is expected to be powered by an Exynos chipset paired with 4GB of RAM, and 64GB internal storage. A couple of teasers posted on Flipkart have all but confirmed a single camera setup at the back, and a physical fingerprint sensor.

The hashtag ‘AlwaysOn’ could also be a hint at the smartphone’s long battery life. The device is likely to run Android Oreo out-of-the-box, and will come with India-specific features like Chat over Video.
