Flipkart started teasing the launch of a new Samsung smartphone scheduled for July 2. While Samsung has yet to make any official announcement, a report now claims that the smartphone launching next week is the Galaxy On6.
According to IANS, Samsung will be launching the Galaxy On6 on July 2, which will be an online exclusive model. It will be launched at 12:30PM on the day, and will be exclusively available via Flipkart. The report further mentions that the smartphone will be priced around the Rs 15,000 mark.
At this price tag, the Galaxy On6 will face competition from the likes of the popular Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro, Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1, and the Realme 1 to name a few. In order to compete with them, Samsung’s smartphone will come with features like a Super AMOLED Infinity Display. The teaser on Flipkart’s microsite also confirms the edge-to-edge screen on the upcoming device.
Further, the Galaxy On6 is also expected to feature an Exynos chipset, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB internal storage. It will also come with a single camera at the back, and a physical fingerprint sensor. The hashtag ‘AlwaysOn’ could also be a hint at the smartphone’s long battery life. The device is likely to run Android Oreo out-of-the-box, and will come with India-specific features like Chat over Video.
