Samsung might have announced the Galaxy S5 a few weeks ago, but the phone goes on sale globally today. The pricing was not decided at the time of the phone’s launch but was indicated to be between Rs 51,000-53,000. While the official announcement is yet to be made, online retailer Flipkart has listed the phone on its website for Rs 53,499.
There are two sellers on Flipkart offering the Samsung Galaxy S5 (White) for Rs 51,499 and Rs 53,499. The phone features a 5.1-inch screen, an Exynos 5 Octa SoC, 2GB of RAM, and a 4k-video ready 16-megapixel camera. It is waterproof and also has a finger print scanner and a heartbeat monitor.
Announced at the 2014 edition of Mobile World Congress, the Galaxy S5 is the first among its major competitors (like the Sony Xperia Z2) to reach the country. It is about Rs 22,000 dearer than last year’s flagship from Samsung, the Galaxy S4.
