Samsung today launched the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ in India. Prices for the smartphones start from Rs 57,900, and both will be available in two storage variants of 64GB and 256GB. As part of the India launch, Samsung has a range of offers on the purchase of the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ smartphones. Prices and availability
Samsung Galaxy S9 with 64GB of internal storage is priced at Rs 57,900, while the 256GB variant is priced at Rs 65,900. The Galaxy S9+, on the other hand, is priced at Rs 64,900 for the 64GB variant and Rs 72,900 for the 256GB version.
The duo will be available in color choices of Coral Blue, Midnight Black, and Lilac Purple. You can purchase the smartphones through Samsung India’s e-store, offline retail stores, or Flipkart. The pre-order on Flipkart starts at 2:00PM today while shipping will begin from March 16. For those who pre-registered on Airtel, the sale opens on March 7 at 2:00PM.
Launch day offers
Samsung has partnered with Airtel, Reliance Jio, and Vodafone for impressive offers on the purchase of the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+. With Airtel, you can make a down payment of Rs 9,900 for the new Galaxy S9 and buy the postpaid tariff plan of Rs 2,999 for 24 months.
With Reliance Jio, you can use the special annual plan of Rs 4,999 with the new smartphones for data benefits. Vodafone, on the other hand, is offering a free subscription to Netflix for a year.
As for discounts on the price, if you exchange an old, eligible smartphone, Samsung is offering up to Rs 6,000 exchange bonus. For Paytm Mall users, the same cashback amount is applicable on the purchase of the Galaxy S9 or Galaxy S9+. The offer is also available for purchases made at offline retail stores, or on the use of HDFC bank cards.
The Samsung Galaxy S9 flaunts a 5.8-inch QHD+ Super AMOLED display running at a resolution of 1440×2960 pixels, and an aspect ratio of 18.5:9. Under the hood, Exynos 9810 octa-core SoC paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB/256GB of internal storage, which is expandable up to 400GB via microSD card.
For optics, the Galaxy S9 comes with a 12-megapixel dual aperture camera lens, with f-stop between f/1.5 and f/2.4. There is support for super slow-motion video recording at 960fps. Up front, there is an 8-megapixel camera of aperture f/1.7 with auto-focus. The smartphone is equipped with a 3,000mAh battery along with support for fast charging and wireless fast charging.
The Samsung Galaxy S9+ flaunts a 6.2-inch QHD+ Super AMOLED display running at a resolution of 1440×2960 pixels, and an aspect ratio of 18.5:9. It is powered by the same chipset as the Galaxy S9 with 6GB of RAM, and the same storage options.
The smartphone gets a dual-camera module at the back. It includes a combination of 12-megapixel sensor with dual aperture (ranging between f/1.5 to f/2.4) and wide-angle lens, the other is a 12-megapixel telephoto lens of aperture f/2.4. Both cameras work in tandem to add DSLR-like bokeh effects to your photos, or capture photos with 2x lossless zoom.
To keep things ticking the Galaxy S9+ is armed with a 3,500mAh battery along with support for fast charging and wireless fast charging. Connectivity options on both the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ include dual-SIM card slots with 4G VoLTE, GPS, NFC, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0 and USB Type-C. Both smartphones also run Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box, with Samsung’s custom UI on top.
