The wait for Samsung’s latest Galaxy S9 duo is set to be over today as the company debuts its flagship smartphones in the Indian market. The Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ were introduced at the recently concluded MWC 2018. The smartphones have been already up for pre-registration and pre-orders across online and offline portals. Samsung’s launch event is set to kick off at 12:30PM today, and it will be live streaming the event online.

Recently, prices of the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ were leaked through an alleged official Samsung document. Based on that, the Galaxy S9 with 64GB internal storage will be priced at Rs 62,500, and the 256GB variant will be priced at Rs 71,000. The Galaxy S9+, on the other hand, will retail at Rs 70,000 for the base model with 64GB internal storage, and Rs 79,000 for the 256GB model. As these prices were said to be lower than the MRP, we can expect the selling prices of the flagship smartphones to be further lower than this when launched.

Samsung is charging Rs 2,000 as a pre-booking amount on both the models. The duo will be available in color choices of black, blue, and the new lilac purple.

Samsung Galaxy S9, Galaxy S9+ specifications

The highlight of the smartphones is that they are equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC equivalent Exynos 9810 SoC. The Galaxy S9 comes with 4GB of RAM, while the Galaxy S9+ is equipped with 6GB of RAM. Both models support storage expansion via microSD card.

The Galaxy S9 features a 5.8-inch quad HD+ Super AMOLED display, while the Galaxy S9+ packs a 6.2-inch quad HD+ Super AMOLED display. The smartphones continue the edge-to-edge display trend with 18:9 aspect ratio.

For optics, the Galaxy S9 features a 12-megapixel dual pixel sensor. The Galaxy S9+, on the other hand, is equipped with dual 12-megapixel sensors. Up front, there’s 8-megapixel sensor. Another differentiating factor between the two is the battery capacity. The Galaxy S9 is backed by a 3,000mAh battery, while the Galaxy S9+ is backed by a 3,500mAh battery. Both smartphones run Android Oreo out-of-the-box, and are equipped with rear fingerprint sensors.
