The next big anticipated attraction from Samsung is 2018’s Galaxy S9 duo. For a while now, we have come across a bunch of leaks about the smartphones, from its designs to its specification, there have been rumors about almost every aspect of the devices. Today, owing to some leaked renders and videos of the purported Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+, a bunch of new design details have been revealed.
Samsung Galaxy S9, Galaxy S9+ image renders
Talking about the renders first, the leaked images of both the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ look pretty much identical, except the former features a single camera setup at the back, while the latter sports a dual-camera setup.
However, if we draw comparison to its predecessors, that is the Galaxy S8 duo, the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ renders suggest some notable changes.
Primary among these differences is the vertical strip on the back of both the smartphones, which houses the camera and the fingerprint scanner. Of note is also the fact that the S9 will only have one rear camera, as Samsung seems to be playing an Apple-like differentiating game between its two top-of-the-line models.
Further, we see on both the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ that the iconic curved screen remains, and the top and bottom bezels seem to be around the same size as they were on the Galaxy S8. Although, as per the source of these renders, the bottom bezel is 0.1mm smaller.
The Galaxy S9+, on the other hands, looks almost identical to its sibling, other than the the fact that it does get a dual-camera setup at the back. The shooters are arranged vertically above the fingerprint sensor, as shown in the renders.
We continue to see the ‘glass sandwich’ design on the smartphone, which means it features a metal frame and glass on the back and front. The rear sheet curves into the frame almost as much as the display does. Iris scanning tech will be built into both Galaxy S9s, and the Bixby button is here to stay – as is the 3.5mm headset jack.
Samsung Galaxy S9, Galaxy S9+ leaked video
As for the leaked video, it reveals pretty much reveals the same. We see the Galaxy S9+ imitating its predecessor in design. We see it sports the volume and power button on the left edge. And the long rumored, no-bottom bezel design seems to be dismissed by this video and the rendered images.
Further, going a little deep into the detail, MySmartPrice reveals that the Galaxy S9 may measure 147.6 x 68.7 x 8.4mm. That makes it 1.3mm shorter, 0.6mm wider, and 0.4mm thicker than its predecessor. The Galaxy S9+ on the other hand, measures 157.7 x 73.8 x 8.5mm. Which means, it’s going to be 1.8mm shorter, 0.4mm wider, and 0.4mm thicker than the Galaxy S8+.
