Samsung Galaxy S9 has already been compared with almost all its competitors in the market out there. However, now it’s time to see how strong the device is in itself.
YouTuber JerryRigEverything got his hands on the Galaxy S9 duo and put them through a durability test. He starts off with his famous scratch test, where we see the AMOLED display of the smartphones resist scratches up till level 6 of hardness. Which as Jerry points out is tougher than the glass used in the Galaxy S8.
In fact, the YouTuber gives a thumbs up to both front and back cameras on the handset, that are also under glass protection to avoid them getting scratched easily. The rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, however, is prone to scratches, as you can see in the video. But in the smartphone’s defence, the sensor worked perfectly fine even after numerous scratches to its surface during the test.
Then he moves over to the burn test, where we see that the Galaxy S9’s display starts to lose pixels after about 12 seconds of exposure to flames. However, the display is soon seen recovering the lost pixels. But the oleophobic coating did seem destroyed around the area of impact.
Finally, he moves to the bend test, which the Galaxy S9 passes with flying colors. The smartphone easily endured front and back flexes, courtesy the phone’s upgraded aluminium frame.
