Adding to the list of speculations about the upcoming Galaxy S9 lineup by Samsung, alleged protective cases of the flagship smartphone have been listed online. Based on the design of the cases, it appears that the company is unlikely to bring about a major change in terms of design.
Based on the cases, listed as ‘Official Samsung cases’ on an online website MobileFun, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S9 will only differ in terms of the rear panel designing where the camera module, flash, and fingerprint sensors have been repositioned ergonomics, BGR.com reports. Whether or not they are actually official, these cases look pretty interesting with the hyperknit fabric surface.
Thanks to a slew of leaks and rumors, it is no mystery that the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ will be incremental upgrades to the current Galaxy S8 duo. Without overhauling the entire aesthetics, Samsung is likely to reduce the bezels a wee bit more to make the display experience better. Other improvements are mostly under the hood, with the inclusion of the newest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC with up to 512GB of default storage.
In terms of specifications, the Galaxy S9 will pack a 5.8-inch quad HD+ Super AMOLED curved display while the Galaxy S9+ will feature a 6.2-inch display. Samsung will ship the phone with its own Snapdragon equivalent Exynos SoC in certain regions including India.
For optics, the Galaxy S9+ is likely to include a pair of lenses at the back, making it the first phone from its series. It is speculated that there will be a pair of 12-megapixel Dual Pixel cameras with optical image stabilization at the back. Up front, there will be an 8-megapixel camera.
This week, Samsung relased official teasers hinting at the flagship smartphone’s camera prowess. Based on the teasers, the new Galaxy S9 series is expected to get improved slow-motion video recording capabilities with a higher fps and improved low-light performance. One of the biggest revelation from the teasers is the presence of the rumored Apple iPhone X-like 3D Animoji feature.
Other features include water and dust resistant with IP68 rating, improved Bixby 2.0, along with a new ‘DeX Pad‘ and an improved fast wireless charger as additional accessories for the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+.
