At CES 2018, Samsung’s Mobile Communications Business President DJ Koh announced that the 2018-flagship, the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus will be launched at the Mobile World Congress 2018. Now, ahead of the official launch, what is said to be the retail box of the Galaxy S9 has leaked online revealing key specifications of the phone.
First spotted by GizmoChina, the listing reveals that the Samsung Galaxy S9 features a 5.8-inch Quad HD+ Super AMOLED display. Rumors have it that the smartphone will come with bezel-less Infinity display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. On the camera front, the smartphone is expected to sport a 12-megapixel Dual Pixel camera with OIS which will be able to switch from an F1.5 to F/2.4 aperture and vice-versa. The camera is also said to feature super slow-mo mode. Up front, we can expect an 8-megapixel autofocus camera.
While there is no word on the processor of the Galaxy S9 yet, the box reveals that the smartphone will pack 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage as standard. Among other remaining features, the smartphone is also said to come with an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, an Iris Scanner, and support for wireless charging. The phone will have dual stereo speakers tuned by AKG and also come with earphones tuned by AKG.
According to the leaks in the recent past, Samsung might also launch a 128GB with 4GB of RAM. However, Galaxy S9+ might launch in 64GB, 128GB and 256GB variant.
The leaked render images show that the fingerprint scanner placed next to the camera, in the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ it will reportedly be placed below it. Under the hood, we can expect the phones to be powered by Exynos 9810 SoC built on the 10nm process with a maximum clock speed of 2.9GHz.
