After a gap of more than two years, Samsung has revived its Galaxy Tab Active-series. The South Korean company has launched the Galaxy Tab Active 2 rugged tablet. The tablet, as the name suggests, is the successor to the Galaxy Tab Active, which was launched back in 2014. The tablet is priced at €500 (Rs 38,100 approximately), and will be available in the Netherlands starting late November.
Just like its predecessor, the new Galaxy Tab Active 2 is also a rugged Android tablet that Samsung claims is aimed at professionals working in tricky environments like construction sites. The design of the tablet remains broadly the same, however, the physical buttons up front are more clear now, the predecessor had the button stuck to each other. At the back, the camera and LED flash are placed vertically at the center with the Samsung logo below it.
The two new add-on features on the Galaxy Tab Active 2 are the S Pen and Bixby (Home and Voice). According to androidu, the S Pen has a slot integrated on the top of the bumper case. Here, it is also worth noting that the Galaxy Tab Active 2 will be the first Samsung tablet to feature Bixby feature since it was introduced with the Galaxy S8 and S8+ smartphones. Apart from that, the tablet also comes with resistance to shock and is water and dust-resistant.
