Samsung Gear Sport, Gear Fit2 Pro launch
Samsung launched its next-generation smart wearable devices, the Gear Fit 2 Pro and the Gear Sport, in India. The Gear Fit 2 Pro is priced at Rs 13,590, whereas the Gear Sport will retail a Rs 22,990. Both the wearable devices will be available via Samsung’s own e-store, Flipkart and Amazon India starting December 11. The pre-bookings for the same starts on December 4.
Both wearables were introduced at IFA 2017. The Gear Fit2 Pro sports a 1.5-inch Curved Super AMOLED screen, whereas the Gear Sport features a 1.2-inch Circular Super AMOLED Always On display.
macOS High Sierra bug
A bug has been discovered on macOS High Sierra that allows one to get admin access without needing to enter a password. Apple has acknowledged the issues and has promised to issue an update as soon as possible.
Vodafone Red Together plan
Vodafone has launched a new plan for its postpaid customers. Called as the ‘Red Together’, the plan claims to save up to 20 percent of the total rental of the group and gives users up to 20GB extra data. The Red Together plan is aimed at friends and families and allows users to make a single payment for the group under one bill. This offer is valid for all customers on the new Red postpaid plan. Under the Red Together plan, customers get features such as free national roaming and data rollover. The data rollover feature allows users to carry forward data up to 200GB.
Elon Musk is not Bitcoin’s Satoshi Nakamoto
Elon Musk denied that he is the creator of Bitcoin Satoshi Nakamoto. Musk’s reply came in response to a blog post suggesting that he is probably the bitcoin originator who used the alias Nakamoto. Besides that, Bitcoin today crossed an all-time high value of $11,000 (Rs 708,600 approximately), up 1,000 percent this year, and its market capitalization is somewhere around $185 billion.
Xiaomi Redmi 5, Redmi 5 Plus launch
Xiaomi has announced that it will be launching the Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus on December 7 in China. The company confirmed the launch date via its Weibo account. The post also reveals that the smartphones will come with a full-screen display with 18:9 aspect ratio. In terms of specifications, rumors suggest that the Redmi 5 might be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 625 SoC paired with 4GB of RAM. For photography, the Redmi 5 could sport a 12-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. Keeping the phone ticking will be a 3,300mAh battery.
Micromax Bharat 5 to launch on December 1
Micromax has sent out media invites for an event on December 1 to launch the Bharat 5. The smartphone will be the first in the Bharat series to sport a dual-camera setup. Rumors suggest that the smartphone might come with a big battery as well.
