Samsung Series 5 Ultra Touch notebook launched in India starting at Rs 64,990

Samsung has come out all guns blazing with a number of product launches today. Apart from launching two Windows 8 tablets, Samsung has also launched the Series 5 Ultra Touch notebook in India, which also runs on Windows 8 for Rs 64,990.

It runs on the latest Intel Core i5 processor clocked at 1.7GHz, which works in concert with a 13.3-inch touch display with a resolution of 1366×768 pixels. Apart from this, Samsung packs in 8GB of DDR 3 RAM, which should be ample for most tasks. It also has a 4-cell battery and like most UltraBooks it does not have an Optical drive.

As far as the memory is concerned it has a 500GB hard drive along with a 24GB cache for fast boot up times. For connectivity it has a full HDMI port, an USB 3.0 port, two USB 2.0 ports and an all-in-one card reader.  Samsung claims that it can provide up to 6.5 hours of battery life.

In addition to the Series 5 Ultra Touch notebook Samsung has also launched an upgraded version of the Series 5 UltraBook with an AMD quad-core processor for Rs 43,990. Apart from this, the Series 9 notebook has also been upgraded to Windows 8 and this new model has a 15-inch display, which can be had for Rs 107,990.
