Samsung has sent out a teaser for a new Grand smartphone launch in India. In all likelihood it is the oft-rumored Galaxy Grand 3, which is set to go on sale via Snapdeal.
The teaser has a tagline, “The Grandest Ever, Coming Soon.” The partial image of the smartphone in the teaser is in line with the various photo leaks of the Galaxy Grand 3.
As per numerous leaks, the Galaxy Grand 2 successor will be thinner and lighter than its predecessor with dimensions of 146×74.8×7.95mm, and weighing in at 140 grams (as compared to 146.8×75.3×8.9mm, and 163 grams).
It will flaunt a 5.25-inch HD (1280×720 pixels) display, and will be powered by a 1.2 GHz 64-bit Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor paired with 1.5GB of RAM. Also likely to be featured are 13-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front-facing camera, 16GB internal storage, and on the software front, it will run on Android 4.4.4 KitKat.
In comparison, the Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 features a 5.25-inch HD display, 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor, 1.5GB of RAM, and 8GB expandable memory. Also included is 8-megapixel rear camera, 1.9-megapixel front facing camera, 2,600mAh battery, and on the software front it runs on Android Jelly Bean. It was launched in India with a price tag of Rs 22,999, but is now available for around Rs 16,000 on Indian e-commerce sites.
