Samsung to unveil Galaxy S IV in New York on March 14

After a lot of rumor and conjecture Samsung has confirmed that it will launch the Galaxy S IV in an event in New York on March 14. This will also be the first time that Samsung will launch the Galaxy flagship in USA after the original Galaxy S. Last year, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S III at an event in London.

Samsung’s head of mobile and IT JK Shin told EDaily, “We introduced the Galaxy S III in London last year, and this time we changed the venue (to New York)… as we were bombarded with requests from U.S. mobile carriers to unveil the Galaxy S IV in the country.”

According to the rumor mill the Galaxy S IV will supposedly feature a 4.99-inch 1080p display, a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor, 2GB of RAM, a 13-megapixel camera and it will run on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.

Previously, it was reported that the Galaxy IV would leverage Samsung’s own Exynos Octa processor and AMOLED display, but now it appears that Samsung is having production issues, hence it will resort to using a chip supplied by Qualcomm and a display that does not use its famed AMOLED technology.
