Sharp Aquos S3 has been in the rumor mills for quite some time now. The smartphone is widely expected to flaunt an Apple iPhone X-like display, and a recent TENAA listing revealed its specifications and design details. Ahead of its launch on January 16, live photos of the Aquos S3 have surfaced online via Taiwan’s National Communications Commission website.
The photos of the Sharp Aquos S3 seen on Taiwan’s NCC reveal the front and rear view of the upcoming smartphone, Slashleaks reports. The front of the smartphone comes with a notch at the top that is said to host the selfie camera, as well as the earpiece and other sensors. At the rear, the Aquos S3 is seen featuring a dual-camera, just like its predecessor. One major difference is that the fingerprint scanner is now placed at the back panel of the device, which also enables 18:9 aspect ratio display up front.
In terms of specifications, the Sharp Aquos S3 is expected to flaunt a 5.48-inch display with a resolution of 2040×1080 pixels. We can expect an octa-core Snapdragon 630 or Snapdragon 660 SoC. The smartphone might launch in two variants – 64GB storage with 4GB of RAM, and 128GB storage with 6GB of RAM.
On the camera front, the smartphone is likely to sport dual rear cameras, featuring 12-megapixel and 13-megapixel cameras. For selfies, there’s likely to be a 20-megapixel snapper. The smartphone is said to be armed with a 3,100mAh battery, and it will run Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box.
