Snapchat for iOS has been updated with three new features. Of the lot, one feature is quite significant and highly needed on the social app. You can now share links and photos from third-party sources to your contacts on Snapchat. The other two features include setting time duration for Ghost Mode, and profile shortcuts. To use the new features, you need to update Snapchat to the latest version, which is available on the App Store.
To be able to share links and photos on Snapchat via third-party sources, you have to add Snapchat in the share toggle on your iOS device. Although a little late in the game, this feature will erase the hassle of having to copy and paste external links on Snapchat. For users who communicate with their friends and families via different social apps, this feature will primarily be very helpful. This feature is already available for Snapchat users on Android. Instagram had also after a long time, introduced sharing links on the app.
The second feature allows users to set timers for Ghost Mode. Snapchat introduced Ghost Mode with Snap Map, which basically allows you to share your location. If you enable Ghost Mode, then your location on Snap Map is visible only to you. You can now set duration of three hours, 24 hours, or until it’s turned off for your location to remain on Ghost Mode. TechCrunch reports that Snapchat will rollout Ghost Mode timers for Android as soon as today or tomorrow. ALSO READ: You may be able to Snapchat on Mars, reveals Elon Musk
Speaking about profile shortcuts, you can now watch a Story, send a Snap, and more by pressing and holding on your friends’ name. A popup will appear with more shortcuts like sharing that person’s Snapchat profile on other apps or to other contacts. The Settings menu will also be available under which you can edit their name, clear conversation, remove or block them. ALSO READ: Here’s how you can Shazam right from within Snapchat
