Sony C6802X specs leak points at a Xperia Z successor, to launch in the second-half of 2013

As everyone in the West and in certain Asian countries wait for Sony to release its much-awaited Xperia Z, the folks at Xperia Blog have come across what could be the successor to the Xperia Z. Known only by a codename— C6802X, it could be a model Sony is planning to launch in the second-half of this year.

The report talks about certain benchmarks that came up when testing the phone’s browser compatibility with HTML5. The HTML5 Test website shows a phone with a codename C6802X that runs on Android 4.2 and sports a screen that supports a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. Not much else is known about the phone yet.

The code C6802X could mean a follow-up device to the Xperia Z and the Xperia ZL which are also known as C660X and C650X respectively. This could mean that the C6802X specs will be higher than that on Xperia Z which is already pushing the specs we see on mobiles today to new limits. We will keep you updated on any new information that will surface in future and in the meantime wait for the launch of the Xperia Z which is scheduled to take place sometime in March.
