Sony launches HT-S700RF, and HT-S500RF 5.1 channel soundbar home theatre systems

Sony is aiming “to grow by more than 80 percent” in the Indian market by the end of the financial year.

Sony India has just launched two of its latest soundbar home theater systems in the market. The company has priced the HT-S700RF at Rs 37,990 and the HT-S500RF at Rs 29,990. Both the soundbar systems will go on sale starting August 10, 2018. The company claims that both these new Home Theatre systems will come “with exclusive India sound setting” while offering bass sound and clear vocal reproduction. Sony goes on to claim that both the Soundbar Home Theatre systems have been designed for Indian customers. The company added that it is aiming to grow by more than 80 percent in the Indian market by the end of the 2018 financial year.

According to the announcement, both the home theatre systems provide an output of about 1000W with the help of high volume boxes with the help of tweeters along with a “rhombus-shaped” high aperture ratio grill. Sony added that both the systems have special tweeters for producing sounds with high frequency. Both the systems come with HDMI, optical cables, analog audio input, USB port, and Bluetooth v4.2 as connectivity options.

The systems also come with the ability to allow users to browse through all the music with the help of the Music Center App so that users can check and control playback without the need to look at the monitor or without the need to get up from their spot or coming near to the systems.

Talking more about the specifications for both the systems, the HT-S700RF comes with a 20cm high subwoofer and HT-S500RF sports an 18cm high subwoofer. The total weight of the setup for the HT-S700RF is 24kg where surround speaker is about 3.6kg and subwoofer is about 10.2kg. HT-S500RF weighs about 17kg where the surround sound speaker weighs 1kg and the subwoofer weighs 9kg.
