Sony LT22i Nypon now christened as the Sony Xperia P

Remember that unknown and unnamed first Sony smartphone sans the ‘Ericsson’ branding which was caught in the wild last year. Well, the device’s real name has finally been ousted and all this revelation job has been done by the Indonesian Telecoms Regulatory body. The Authority claims that the smartphone is called the the Sony Xperia P and was earlier codenamed as the Nypon or the Nyphon. According to the XperiaBlog, the Indonesian Telecom body has not just revealed the details about the Sony Nypon, now known as Sony Xperia P, but it has also uncovered another handset belonging to the same line-up. Recently, they announced that the upcoming Sony ST25i dubbed ‘Kumquat’ will be known as the Sony Xperia U at the time of unveiling. Considering the pattern in these names, Sony could be following the single letter marketing approach for its upcoming 2012 global Xperia handsets, a pattern which the vendor earlier followed while christening its tablets - the Sony Tablet P and the Sony Tablet S. We expect these handsets to make a grand debut at the MWC next month. In the meanwhile, hit the break to check out the table printed by the authority..
