Sony Xperia C3 Dual “selfie smartphone” with 5-megapixel camera and front flash launched in India, priced at Rs 23,990

After announcing it back in July, Sony today launched the Xperia C3 Dual “selfie smartphone” boasting a front-facing 5-megapixel camera and LED flash. The device is priced at Rs 23,990 and will be available from September 1 onwards.

The talking point on the Xperia C3 Dual is the 5-megapixel wide-angle front camera, the company calls “PROSelfie cam.” The camera is accompanied by a flash on the front and also features selfie-specific apps. At the bank you get an 8-megapixel rear camera.

The Xperia C3 Dual also features a 5.5-inch HD (1280x720pixels) display, 1.2GHz Snapdragon quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM and 8GB internal storage, and microSD card slot. Also included is a 2,500mAh battery with STAMINA Mode 3.0, and connectivity options like dual-SIM card slots, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, and GPS, and on the software front, it runs on Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box.

The selfie smartphone trend is slowly picking up in India. Karbonn recently launched the Titanium S19 with a 5-megapixel front camera for Rs 8,999. Even Lava has revealed its plans to unveil a selfie smartphone.
