Sony announced three new smartphones at this year’s CES 2018 – Xperia XA 2, Xperia XA 2 Ultra, and the Xperia L2. While there is yet no news of the availability of the first two smartphones, Sony has today launched the Xperia L2 in India. The smartphone is priced at Rs 19,990, and will be available for purchase starting today. Buyers will be able to choose from black and gold color options.
The Sony Xperia L2 features a 5.5-inch HD display, with a resolution of 720×1280 pixels. Under the hood is a MediaTek MT6737T chipset paired with 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of internal storage that is further expandable up to 256GB via microSD card.
For photography, it sports a 13-megapixel rear camera. On the front is an 8-megapixel ultra-wide angle front sensor with 120-degree field-of-view. The Xperia L2 is fuelled by a 3,300mAh battery with support for fast charging. On the software front, it runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box. Other features include USB Type-C support, rear fingerprint sensor, and 4K video recording capabilities.
Last week, Sony revealed the prices of the three smartphone for the US market. The Sony Xperia L2 was announced for $249.99 (Rs 16,000 approximately), which falls pretty much in the same category. So for perspective, the Xperia XA 2 and Xperia XA 2 Ultra are priced at $349.99 (Rs 23,000 approximately) and $449.99 (Rs 28,500 approximately) respectively.
