Earlier this year, Sony had announced the Xperia T2 Ultra, following which the mid-range phablet was listed on a few Indian online retailers. Today, Sony has made things official by launching the dual-SIM variant of the phablet in India for Rs 25,990. The official price tag is far cheaper than what the e-commerce sites were selling the phablet at. The phablet will available from March 20 that is tomorrow.
As far as the specifications are concerned, the Xperia T2 Ultra dual flaunts a 6-inch HD (1280×720 pixels) Triluminous display with 2.5mm bezels and Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2 display technology. It is powered by a 1.4GHz Snapdragon 400 quad-core SoC paired with 1GB of RAM and offers 8GB of internal storage that can be further expanded to 32GB using a microSD card.
Other features include a 13-megapixel rear camera with Exmor sensor, a 1.1-megapixel camera at the front and a 3,000mAh battery that Sony claims can survive up to 14 hours of talktime and 1,071 hours on standby mode.
Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots, 3G support, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and NFC and on the software front, it runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.
At the above mentioned specs and price tag, the Xperia T2 Ultra dual will be up against the likes of Huawei Ascend Mate and the Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3.
