Over the last month and a half, the blogosphere has been flooded with rumors of a Sony phablet, which is now being called the Xperia Z. Today, the folks at Engadget managed to get a picture of the Sony Xperia Z, in a placeholder that was marked out as the Xperia Z inside Sony’s booth at CES. This is all but a confirmation that Sony will most probably announce the Xperia Z at its keynote.
The Xperia Z is rumored to have a 5-inch 1080p display with on-screen Android controls. Additionally it will pack in the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz, 2GB of RAM and a 13-megapixel camera running onAndroid 4.1 Jelly Bean. Most probably, Sony will bill it as its flagship smartphone for the first half of 2013, so it will be interesting to see how the Japanese smartphone vendor prices it.
