Sony Xperia Z tablet specs leak as MWC comes closer
Sony impressed the tech press with its Xperia Z smartphone at CES. We even picked it in our ‘Top Ten Gadgets of CES 2013’ and some called it the most elegant Android smartphone ever. It appears that Sony is extending the Xperia Z design language to a large 10.1-inch tablet if TechKiddy is to be believed. Now this is not a mainstream technology blog so we will take the information with a grain of salt, but a tablet rumor seems quite plausible.
The tablet in question is the Xperia Z tablet. It is rumored to have a 10.1-inch display with a full-HD display with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels, the very same quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor seen in the Xperia Z, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, a 8.1-megapixel rear camera, a 2.2-megapixel front-facing camera, LTE, NFC, a 6,000 mAh battery and Android Jelly Bean.
Like the Xperia Z, it is also expected to be waterproof and dustproof and currently there is no word on microSD card support.
On the face of it these specs look impressive, but they may not cut it as already we are seeing tablets like the Nexus 10 with displays that exceed the full-HD resolution. Come MWC, we will see many more Tegra 4 powered tablets and most definitely there will be products that will trump the full-HD resolution. Perhaps, this is a limitation of the Snapdragon S4 Pro chipset, but then again this may not be enough. We will need to watch this space.
