Swipe Sense Android KitKat smartphone with fingerprint reader launched, priced at Rs 9,999


Swipe has launched a new Android KitKat smartphone in the sub-Rs 10,000 segment called the Sense. Priced at Rs 9,999, the Sense is the first smartphone in this segment to boast a fingerprint reader.

Until now, a fingerprint scanner has been limited to high-end smartphones like the Apple iPhone 5S, Samsung Galaxy S5 and the HTC One Max. This is the first time the biometric scanner is being featured in the affordable segment.

As far as the specifications are concerned, the Swipe Sense sports a 5.5-inch qHD (960×540 pixels) display and is powered by a 1.3GHz MediaTek quad-core processor paired with 1GB of RAM. Also included is 8GB of internal storage that can be further expanded up to 32GB using a microSD card.

The smartphone also features an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, 3.2-megapixel front-facing camera, and a 2,250mAh battery. Swipe is also bundling an extra 2,250mAh battery with the smartphone free of cost.

Connectivity options include, dual-SIM card slots, 3G support, Wi-Fi, OTG support, Bluetooth, and on the software front, it runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat out-of-the-box.
