Karbonn has launched a new smartphone called the Smart A50S, which is India’s cheapest Android smartphone. The smartphone with a 3.2-inch display and running on Android Jelly Bean is priced at Rs 2,790 and is exclusively available on Flipkart.

Speaking of specifications, the Karbonn Smart A50S sports a HVGA (480×320 pixels) display and is powered by a MediaTek dual-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz and paired with 256MB of RAM. Also included is, 512MB internal storage that can be further expanded up to 32GB using a microSD card.

The smartphone also features a 2-megapixel rear camera, VGA front-facing camera and a 1,100mAh battery. Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots, 2G support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0, and on the software front, it runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.

In this ultra-affordable price segment, the Smart A50S will be up against the likes of Micromax Bolt A27 and the Spice Smart Flo Edge Mi-349 among others. The Smart A50S however has the advantage of being lighter on the pockets and running on Android Jelly Bean (the other two run on Android Gingerbread).
