2018 kick-started with a number of smartphone launches in the country. With the 18:9 display trend trickling into the new year, some of the highlights came from OnePlus which launched a new color variant of its 5T smartphone and Samsung which added a Galaxy smartphone to its lineup in a bid to take on the narrow bezel generation.

While most of the smartphones launched in January fall in the mid-range category, manufacturers including Karbonn and Smartron launched phones for the budget consumers.
