Toshiba launches a slew of new laptops running Intel Ivy Bridge in India
Apart from Dell, Toshiba also has launched a slew of products running the newly launched Intel Ivy Bridge based silicon in India. Some of these laptops include the Satellite C Series, the Satellite L series, the Satellite M840 and the Satellite U840.
The Satellite C series include 14 and 15.6-inch models running Intel Ivy Bridge CPUs and offer Toshiba’s Audio enhancement option, which automatically improves the sound output by controlling the digital saturation and by dynamically changing the sound equalizer to reduce distortion. Other features include USB 3.0 connectivity, HD webcam, HDMI connectivity, and super fast boot times. Satellite C series models come between Rs 23,000 and Rs 44,000.
The Satellite L Series has also been upgraded with Intel ivy Bridge CPUs which is offered in a 15.6-inch model. In addition to this, the device features an HD web camera, USB 3.0 connectivity, SRS premium sound along with Toshiba’s audio enhancement software and a dedicated GPU with 2GB of memory. Toshiba’s has not revealed the precise details of specs but the Satellite L series laptops are available for between Rs 51,500 and Rs 56,000 depending on the configuration.
The Toshiba Satellite M840 is being billed as light weight laptop for the youth and weighs less the 2Kg. The device is also powered by an Intel Ivy Bridge chip and features a 14-inch display and boasts of the standard array of HDMI ports, USB 3.0 ports, an HD web camera, SRS premium sound and Toshiba’s audio enhancement software. The device costs between Rs 32,500 and Rs 41,000 depending on the configuration. As usual, even for this model Toshiba has not revealed all the tech specs.
And lastly, the Toshiba Satellite U840 is an UltraBook model, which the company claims to pack a lot of power in a light form factor . This device also utilizes a new Core i5 Ivy Bridge CPU, but in addition to this, the device combines a 32GB SSD with a 500 GB HDD for super fast boot times. Other features of this UltraBook include, USB 3.0 connectivity, an LED backlit Keyboard, SRS Premium sound with Toshiba’s sound enhancement software, and a HDMI port. This model will cost consumers Rs 53,500.
Toshiba says that all these models will hit the markets by the third week of June.
