Twitter accidently resets passwords of number active users: Reuters

Last night Twitter accidentally reset the passwords of a number of active user while running a security scan looking for compromised accounts reports Reuters. While checking our own Twitter accounts, we have not faced any difficulties but we have received reports of users whose passwords were reset and reported deleted tweets.

Twitter says that it normally resets the password of compromised accounts, but in this case it unintentionally reset the passwords of a large number of users whose accounts were not compromised. Twitter did not reveal the actual number of accounts that had their passwords reset, but it confirmed that there was not security breach.

Do let us know by commenting below if you were among those whose passwords were reset.
