Twitter has announced in a blog post that it has added blogging site Posterous, renowned for its post-via-email feature, in to its armory. After this acquisition, various Posterous engineers, product managers and others will join the Twitter team. Though the micro-blogging site Twitter has promised that Posterous will continue to be “up and running without disruption” and users will definitely get “ample time” to relocate their content. “We’re always looking for talented people who have the passion and personality to join Twitter. Acquisitions have given us people and technology that have enabled us to more quickly build a better Twitter for you,” the company wrote on its official blog.
Twitter had recently redesigned its web page that integrated pictures and videos within the service rather than the media showing up as links that got redirected to other sites. But with the acquisition of Posterous, is it time Twitter moved beyond its 140 character limit? Only time will tell.
