Twitter is working on a way to retrieve old tweets. CEO Dick Costolo told the New York Times the company is working on tool that will help export older tweets. He did not specify a time frame on the development of the tool as it was complex search problem and required the company to pour in a substantial amount of engineering effort.
While Twitter over the years has become ubiquitous for sharing links and breaking news, its users cannot roll back the clock and access their older tweets. This is a big challenge for Twitter as Facebook allows users to keep a chronological track of one’s Facebook life using its Timeline user interface.
