Videocon A29 Android smartphone launched for Rs 5,799: Features, specifications and comparison


Videocon Mobile has launched a new budget Android smartphone, the A29 priced at Rs 5,799. The phone comes with dual-SIM support and support 3G network connectivity on one SIM.

In terms of specifications, the A29 comes with a 4-inch WVGA display with (480×800 pixels) resolution and runs on a 1.2GHz dual-core processor with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory. It has a 3.2-megapixel rear camera and a VGA front-facing camera.

The phone runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean like most of the other phones in this range. On the connectivity front, the phone supports dual-SIM, 3G (HSPA+) network, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GPS/AGPS. The device also features a 1,400mAh Battery, microSD card slot and FM recording. It is available in black and white color options.

At this price point, the Videocon A29 will be up against the likes of the Karbonn Titanium S1 Plus, which sports a 4-inch WVGA (800×480 pixels) display. The phone comes with a quad-core processor ticking at 1.2GHz and paired with 1GB of RAM, which is double the RAM on the A29.

On the photography front as well, the phone has a higher 5-megapixel rear camera. It runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, which is an upgraded version of the 4.2 Jelly Bean however does not bring major changes to the software. Rest of the specs, like a VGA front-facing camera, 4GB of internal storage, and connectivity options remain the same in both the phones. The phone is retailing for Rs 5,750 approximately.
