Videocon has expanded its tablet range with the VT71 tablet, which has been launched in India for Rs 4,799. The seven-inch tablet runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, has a 1.2 GHz processor and has a 3200 mAh battery.The seven-inch display has a WVGA resolution of 800×480 pixels. Additionally, it has 4 GB flash memory, expandable memory up to 32 GB, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, front VGA camera, HDMI port, OTG Cable and micro-USB support. Besides this it has a number of pre-loaded apps like Saavn, NexGtv, Facebook, Nimbuzz and Play Store.
The low-cost tablet market has been growing in India at an exponential pace. Low-cost players like Micromax, Karbonn and Spice have dominated this market and Videocon seems like another player, which wants to have a go in this segment. Gartner forecasts that the tablet will reach 182 million users by the end of 2013.
