Vivo is expected to launch its next-in-line V9 smartphone in India on March 27. However, ahead of the launch, live images of the smartphone have surfaced on the internet. The images confirm the presence of dual-camera setup at the back and the famed notch up front.
The Vivo V9 has been previously spotted on billboards in Indonesia. The latest images, leaked on a website called amanz, show off the Vivo V9 in entirety. In line with rumors, the smartphone features a narrow bezel display. The notch or cutout is placed in the top center, while the dual cameras at the back are positioned vertically, similar to the iPhone X setup.
Given the narrow bezels, the fingerprint sensor is positioned at the back. Unlike the Vivo X20 Plus UD which comes with an in-screen fingerprint sensor, the V9 will include a physical sensor. One of the images reveal the dual-SIM capabilities of the smartphone. It appears to come with a hybrid slot that will allow for either storage expansion or the second SIM. Other features confirmed from the photos include a 3.5mm headphone jack, microUSB port, and the all-metal design.
Based on past rumors, the Vivo V9 is likely to be equipped with a 24-megapixel front sensor. The smartphone is expected to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC. As a report on GSMArena notes, the Vivo V9 is likely to be priced somewhere around Rs 25,000 in India.
In comparison, its predecessor, Vivo V7 features a 5.7-inch HD+ IPS FullView display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 octa-core SoC clocked at 1.8GHz paired with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. For photography, there is a 16-megapixel camera at the rear and 24-megapixel selfie camera. It runs Android 7.1 Nougat with Funtouch OS 3.2 layered on top. Connectivity options include dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and a 3.5mm audio jack. It carries a price tag of Rs 16,990.
