Vivo V9 will be launching in India on March 23. In the run up to the event, we already have a fair idea on what to expect from the smartphone – courtesy of Vivo. Now, the V9 has been listed on Amazon India, which could only mean that the upcoming smartphone will be exclusive to the e-commerce site.
The listing on Amazon India highlights some of the key features of the Vivo V9 that include the full-screen display, rear and front cameras, and performance. The listing also reveals that pre-bookings for the upcoming smartphone will kick off at 3:00PM on March 23 along with a bunch of ‘special offers’.
Based on what we have come across so far, the Vivo V9 is expected to feature a very Apple iPhone X-like design. The leaked renders show a full-screen display on the front with a notch at the top. At the back there is a dual-camera setup that is vertically aligned and placed at the top-left corner.
Vivo V9 specifications, features
As for specifications, the Vivo V9 is expected to flaunt a 6-inch full HD+ (1080×2160 pixels) FullView display with 19:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood is expected to be Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 SoC paired with 4GB of RAM. There is also likely to be 64GB internal storage that can be expanded up to 256GB using a microSD card.
The dual-camera setup at the back is likely to include a combination of 16-megapixel and 5-megapixel sensors. The camera will come with features like 4K video and AI Face Beauty. For selfies, the smartphone will feature a 24-megapixel snapper up front.
On the software front, the Vivo V9 will run Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box. Apart from an iPhone X-inspired design, Vivo is borrowing another feature from Apple’s device. The V9 will come with AR stickers similar to the Animojis.
Reports hint that the Vivo V9 is likely to launch in India with a price tag around Rs 25,000. Earlier this month, the smartphone was listed on an Indonesian website with a price tag of IDR 4,999,000 (approximately Rs 23,700).
