Vivo seems to have slashed the price of its V9 smartphone. The 4GB+64GB unit of Vivo V9 was launched in March in India with a price tag of Rs 22,990. But yesterday, a Mumbai based retailer tweeted out about the Rs 2,000 price drop, which seems to be legit as all online e-commerce platform including Vivo’s own e-store now lists it for Rs 20,990. Although, we are not sure if the price drop is temporary or permanent, as there is no official statement from Vivo till now.
Just last week, Vivo also launched a 6GB RAM variant of the Vivo V9 in Indonesia but without sharing any details about its availability in other markets. We are assuming that price cut on 4GB RAM variant could just be the launch preparation of Vivo V9 6GB launch in India.
The Vivo V9 6GB looks the same as the standard variant, but there are quite a few changes under the hood. The new variant is now powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset instead of a Snapdragon 626. The other big change is in the camera department as it comes with a combination of 13-megapixel and 2-megapixel sensors. Up front, the new V9 variant comes with a 12-megapixel Dual Pixel sensor.

Apart from the above changes, the rest of the specifications and features remain the same. It still features the same 6.3-inch edge-to-edge screen with 19:9 aspect ratio, and a notch at the top. it also packs a 3260mAh battery, and connectivity options like 4G VoLTE support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, 3.5mm audio jack, and micro-USB port.
