Vivo X20 Plus UD, a version of X20 Plus with under display fingerprint sensor, has been on the rumor mills for quite some time now. After being spotted on TENAA recently, new reports suggest that the smartphone will officially launch in China on January 25.
Leakster Zyad Atef tweeted a photo of what is said to be the Vivo X20 Plus UD. The render shows a black variant of the smartphone and looks very similar to the X20 Plus with 18:9 ratio display. Rumors also claim that the smartphone could be priced at RMB 3,998 (Rs 39,700 approximately).

One major difference between the two phones is that Vivo has ditched the rectangular fingerprint scanner. Instead, the upcoming smartphone is widely believed to come with an under-display fingerprint scanner, and Vivo X20 Plus UD is said to be the first smartphone to get this technology.
The fingerprint scanner is said to be placed between the glass panel and the OLED display panel. The smartphone uses Synaptics Clear ID, which illuminates the display to read the unique pattern of the finger to authenticate owner of the device.
Now to recap, Vivo showcased the worlds first in-display fingerprint scanning smartphone at CES 2018. The first smartphone was expected to be announced sometime in the first half of 2018. If the latest rumor is anything to go by, then the smartphone could be launched as early as next week.
