Vivo X21, the first commercial smartphone with an in-display fingerprint sensor, is moving beyond its home market. Vivo had launched the X21 and X21 UD as the first smartphones with an under display fingerprint in March, but these devices were only available in China. Now, the company has expanded the availability to include Singapore as well.
Singapore becomes the first market in South-east Asia to get the Vivo X21 smartphone, and it will be available there from May 5 at a retail price of $799 (around Rs 40,000). According to Straits Times, the Vivo X21 will be available through telecom operators M1, StarHub and other authorized retailers.

In terms of specifications, the Vivo X21 features a 6.28-inch display with a resolution of 2280×1080 pixels, and support for taller 19:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone is powered by octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC coupled with Adreno 512 GPU. The Vivo X21 also comes with 6GB of RAM, and 128GB internal storage.
On the camera front, the Vivo X21 offers dual rear camera setup with a combination of 12-megapixel and 5-megapixel image sensors. The primary 12-megapixel camera supports a wider f/1.8 aperture, dual pixel phase detection autofocus, and larger 1.4 micron pixel size. The secondary 5-megapixel camera acts as depth sensor and has narrower f/2.4 aperture for bokeh effect. At the front, the Vivo X21 gets a 12-megapixel sensor with f/2.0 aperture and support for 1080p video recording.

In terms of connectivity, the Vivo X21 supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and old-school microUSB port. The smartphone runs Funtouch OS 4.0 based on Android 8.1 Oreo, and is backed by a 3,200mAh battery. The smartphone will be available in black and red color options. Vivo is currently the third largest smartphone maker in India, and might bring the smartphone as part of V-series to India next.
