Wickedleak Passion Y HD phablet with quad-core processor launched for Rs 16,999

Wickedleak has announced a new addition to its portfolio of devices released in India. The Wammy Passion Y HD is a 5-inch smartphone with a 720p HD display. This is yet another device to enter in the quad-core arena and boast a number of over-the-top features seen in its counterparts from other players.

The Passion Y runs on Android 4.1 which as per the company claims is upgradeable to 4.2 Jelly Bean, and houses a MediaTek’s MT6589 1.2GHz quad-core processor. Besides this, the 5-inch HD IPS screen offers 720p HD resolution and a 2800mAh battery. On camera front, the device features an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and 4X zoom and can take 99 shots at burst mode. There also is a 5-megapixel camera given in the front. Other features of the smartphone include 1GB RAM, 4GB of internal storage and expandable memory to up to 32GB via microSD card.

With the kind of features it sports and price tag of Rs 16,999, it would give competition to the likes of Micromax Canvas HD A116 which houses almost similar features but comes at a rather decent price point of Rs 13,999. Also, Micromax also scores high in competition considering that it has recently strengthen its grip in the market with its Canvas series, giving it an edge over its counterparts. Apart from the Micromax, the recently released UMI X2 is another optional device with impressive set of features and affordable price point.

This smartphone is expected to be available in the market from March 14 and is currently up for pre-booking on the company website.
