A lot of us know Xiaomi as a smartphone maker, but it initially started as a software company that made MIUI custom ROM. Being a custom interface, Xiaomi does display some ads in system services, which is quite annoying at times. And until now, there was no option to disable these ads. But, taking customer feedback seriously, the company is now offering a way to disable these ads.
Xiaomi has announced the ‘Super VIP’ monthly subscription plan in China that lets you get rid of those annoying ads. The plan is priced at RMB 9 (approximately Rs 100) per month, or RMB 88 (approximately Rs 900) per year. Besides disabling the ads, the subscription plan offers other benefits too.
The Super VIP program gives you can access to download 22 exclusive themes, 1,000 books per month and 5GB of cloud storage space. And for those who opt for yearly subscription model gets an access to 37 exclusive themes, 1,200 books per month and 10GB of free cloud storage.
As the subscription model is basically a VIP pass, it is limited to only 10,000 monthly users. The program has already kicked off in China and will end on December 31. Xiaomi has mentioned that it will only accept 1,000 VIP users per day, till the end of the year, GizmoChina reports.
The membership plan can be accessed only when you are logged in with your Mi Account. Now, while the VIP membership plan sounds good, there is no word on whether Xiaomi will bring the same program to India. Also, the benefits can be enjoyed only on a single smartphone. Which means, if you have more than one Xiaomi smartphone, you cannot get the membership to work on all devices.
