Besides making smartphones and accessories, Xiaomi also offers a wide-range of products in China, with the ecosystem comprising of a ball pen, umbrella, shoes, robot vacuum cleaner, travel pillows and more. The company also crowdfunds new products in China, and the latest offering includes an electric bike that is ridiculously cheap.
Called Himo bicycle, it is priced at RMB 1,699, which roughly translates to Rs 18,000. It will be offered in Orange and White color variants, and will start shipping from July 30 in China. With an affordable price tag, Xiaomi claims that the bike can offer comfort and convenience to urban riders.
Watch: Xiaomi Redmi 5 First Look
Weighing 16.7kg, featuring an alloy body and a foldable handlebar, it is small enough to easy tuck under your desk. The Himo ebike comes with a water-resistant LCD display that will show you the information about battery power, distance covered and speed. What’s more, the ebike also comes with LED lights on the front and back, disk brakes and shock-absorbing tires.
Powered by a 250W brushless DC motor, it can cover a distance of 50 kilometers on a single charge. However, charging takes about 6.5 hours. And once the battery is empty, you can switch the operation mode and use it like a standard bicycle using the pedal. To give it a cleaner look, the cables and wiring is integrated directly into the frame. Indeed, the Himo electric bicycle is interesting, and we just hope Xiaomi to bring such cool products to the Indian makets too.
