Xiaomi might be working on multiple new smartphones for the rest of 2018. The company is already teasing the launch of a new smartphone in India on June 7 and is also preparing to launch new flagship devices at the 8th anniversary event in Shenzhen sometime next month.
Along with these devices, a smartphone codenamed Xiaomi Strakz was also spotted on Geekbench with Snapdragon 625 and 4GB of RAM. Today, another smartphone codenamed Xiaomi E6 has stopped by the benchmarking site suggesting another entry-level smartphone is on the offing. The Geekbench listing reveals that the smartphone will use an octa-core processor clocked at 2.0GHz. However, there is no clarity on the exact specifications or model number of the smartphone just yet.
The listing once again indicates that Xiaomi E6 will be another entry-level model powered by Snapdragon 625 chipset. The processor is facilitated by 3GB of RAM and this particular model seems to be running Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. The Xiaomi E6 scored 841 in the single-core test of Geekbench while the multi-core test recorded 4259. The scores seem to be similar to that of Xiaomi Mi 5X, the smartphone launched last year with Snapdragon 625 chipset.
There is also a possibility that Xiaomi E6 is the international variant of the recently unveiled Redmi S2. Apart from Xiaomi E6 and Strakz spotted on Geekbench, Xiaomi smartphones codenamed Cactus and Cereus have also been spotted on the benchmarking website as well. It is speculated that Cactus and Cereus could be the two variants of the rumored Redmi 5X smartphone.
At present, Xiaomi seems to be focused on its 2018 Annual Product Launch event that will be held in Shenzhen. Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun has already confirmed that a variety of new devices will be announced at the upcoming event. It is widely expected to launch the Mi 7 flagship alongside 8th anniversary edition smartphone. The company is also likely to launch Mi Band 3 at this event.
