Xiaomi has just teased a global launch event for an upcoming device. The company took to its official Twitter account to ask its followers about the place “for a Global Event”. Xiaomi also threw in suggestions including Africa, Americas, Asia, Europe, or even Mars. Mars is obviously not practical and the chances of holding a launch event in Africa are a bit slim because of not so strong presence in the continent. However, it is likely that the company may hold the event either in Asia or Europe. It also posted a poster along with the question which shows a lone person standing in what appears to be the inside of a futuristic spaceship.
The company has not issued any statement about what smartphone it is planning to launch at the said global event or when the company is planning to hold the event. A number of replies went on to suggest India as the location of the global event. The lone person appears to showcase the shape of alphabet A so it may be possible that the company is planning to launch the much anticipated Xiaomi Mi A2 at the global event.

As reported earlier, Xiaomi Mi A2 is expected to run on Snapdragon 660 SoC along with 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage. Xiaomi could also offer a higher-end variant with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. It is likely to come with a 6-inch full HD+ LCD display with 18:9 aspect ratio.
This comes right after Xiaomi posted a 20-second long video clip on its official Weibo account to tease the launch of the upcoming device. The video ends after flashing a message of the 14th second that translated to “A gift from the future” followed by another message that translates to “June 28, New Xiaomi”.
