Xiaomi has silently announced its WhatsApp-based Mi Bunny subscription service in India. The new service is designed to offer instant updates about latest Xiaomi news about product launches, deals and sale reminders. It will also offer notifications about MIUI weekly updates, and reminders about Mi Fan meetups over WhatsApp.
Xiaomi, on its forum, said that customers can also use the advanced service to raise their support requests. To subscribe to Xiaomi Mi Bunny service, users need to send a WhatsApp message saying “Xiaomi” to +91-7760944500 along with their name and city. The company will send users with a welcome message and keep them posted about future Mi events scheduled in their city.
After following the above steps, users will start receiving updates directly from Xiaomi India team. In case users want to unsubscribe they simply need to send a text ‘STOP’ to the same number on WhatsApp. Furthermore, the customer service request which Xiaomi is promising with the Mi Bunny can be raised by simply texting ‘Support’ to the same number and follow the on-screen details. The company says that a user will receive a call back from Xiaomi team after submitting the request.
The Mi Bunny service is currently being beta tested and is limited to only some features. The company has also made it clear that a user’s personal details will not be accessible to third-party services. “We shall ensure that your name, contact number, and location will not be accessible to third-party services,” the company said.
Meanwhile, Xiaomi seems all set to launch the Redmi 5 smartphone in India on February 14, Valentine’s Day. The company has already started sending media invites for the launch event. Xiaomi Redmi 5 was launched in China in December last year.
