Xiaomi has announced the launch of the second generation of its notebook, the Xiaomi Mi Notebook Pro in the Chinese market. The launch of the original Mi Notebook Pro was limited to China. However, because of the strong design and aesthetic inspiration from Apple’s MacBook along with aggressive pricing pushed the Mi Notebooks to popularity.
The second generation Mi Notebook Pro comes with a 15.6-inch FHD display along with brightness level of up to 300 nits. Xiaomi claims that the display comes with 170-degree viewing angle which is impressive at best. Similar to the previous version, the second generation of Mi Notebook Pro will also come with a nearly bezel-less design along with a huge trackpad. According to the listing part, the notebook will come with 360.7 x 243.6 x 15.9mm dimension with 1.95kg weight. The notebook is powered by 8th generation Intel Core i5-8250U CPU along with Nvidia GeForce MX150 GPU with 2GB DDR5 Video RAM.

Xiaomi has opted for 8GB RAM for the system along with 256GB PCIe SSD for storage for this device. It also comes with a fingerprint scanner so that users can easily unlock the Notebook with the help of Windows Hello powered authentication. The company had already launched the eighth generation Intel Core i7-equipped Mi Notebook Pro earlier. This seems to be an attempt to bring the Mi Notebook Pro lineup at a more aggressive and affordable price point.
The new Mi Notebook Pro is priced at 5599 RMB which is approximately Rs 59,000. This new variant will go on sale in Mainland China starting from June 1, 2018, a day after the launch event of Xiaomi Mi 8, Mi Band 3 and the rumored special edition smartphone by Xiaomi.
