Xiaomi temporarily suspended the sales of the Mi 3 in India last month, before launching the entry-level Redmi 1S. Today, the Chinese smartphone maker has announced that the Mi 3 will go back on sale during Diwali.
Speaking at the ongoing Global Mobile Internet Conference (GMIC) in Bangalore, Xiaomi India’s Head of Operations Manu Kumar Jain said that the Xiaomi Mi 3 will again go on sale during Diwali, 91Mobiles reports. The exact date of the sale or the number of units that will be available are currently unknown.
Before the Mi 3’s sales were suspended, Xiaomi sold over 95,000 units of the smartphone on Flipkart spread over six sales. With something that has become a tradition with Xiaomi’s flash sales, Flipkart ran out of stocks in just over half hour in the first sale, five seconds in the second sale, two seconds in the third sale, and 2.4 seconds, 2.3 seconds and 2.4 seconds in the last three sales respectively.
The Chinese smartphone maker is currently focusing on its Redmi 1S, which too is getting quite a bit of attention from buyers on Flipkart. The entry-level smartphone is disappearing off the shelves moments after going on sale. The first four sales have gotten over in 4.2 seconds, 4.5 seconds, 3.4 seconds and 5.2 seconds respectively. The company has managed to sell 180,000 units of the smartphone in these sales.
